Premium Series

 

The Premium Series are created with high carbon for better, stable performance that will meet or exceed OEM standards. Each rotor has the same vane counts as an OEM rotor and will fit your vehicle without any modifications. R1Concept's black electro coating process will help protect against rust and extend the life of the rotor. In addition, the brake rotor have center split core castings for increased strength and stability. Every brake rotor is double disc grounded and mill balanced to minimize any thickness variations and vibrations to provide quieter and smoother stops.

 

Premium Series vs. E-Line Series

 

The Premium series uses high carbon which results in a stronger rotor that can handle more demanding driving styles and conditions. In addition, the Premium Series rotors uses a black electro-coating process that gives the rotor a two-tone color finish which will also help protect against rust. The Premium Series also have center split castings while the E-lines series do not.

 

The E-Line Series uses an iron grade of G3000 which is great for those who do not need the additional stopping power. E-Line Series rotors come with a silver zinc plating through out the rotor and is not two-toned in color.

 

Diamond Slots

 

With exclusive Diamond Slot technology, each brake rotor reduces debris and prevents brake pad glazing by capturing and removing debris as you brake and drive. The end result is better braking, longer pad life, and reduction in unnecessary rotor wear. The diamond ends are also used as an indicator of when you need to replace your rotors, once the tips are gone, it's time to replace. No more guessing or unnecessary trips to the mechanic.

 

Cross-Drilled

 

R1Concept's Cross-Drilled rotors helps prevent warping of the rotor by releasing heat and cooling the rotor by up to an additional 105 degrees Fahrenheit when compared to non-drilled rotors. In addition, all cross-drilled rotors are chamfered, meaning there is a slight slant at the opening of the hole. Our chamfering process reduces the chances of rotor cracks without compromising performance.

NOTE: Retaining and jack screw holes might have been eliminated to prevent the screws from stripping and breaking, causing tremendous effort to remove and replace the rotors. Our two-piece rotor hats are made of aluminum which is easier for installation and removal. See detail view here.

Material:

  1. Alloyed iron formula adds strength and heat resistance. Heat treating further improves rotor performance for a more uniform and stabilized microstructure.

Design:

  1. The cooling vanes are of a convergent nozzle design, which increases airflow and turbulence and makes discs cooler. (Illustration #1)














     
  2. The center-mount flanges for hat mounting to the rotor ring have several benefits. (Illustration #2)
    • It allows the ring to be used on either side of the vehicle simply by mounting the hat on either side of the ring (unidirectional).
    • The stress load transferred from the ring to the hat is balanced.
    • Air inlets are widely open to both inboard and outboard sides of the rotor. More air suctions and even temperature on both sides of the disc surface.
    • Heat transfer from the disc surfaces to the hat is even and minimized by increasing the flange length and the airflow around the flanges.
    • Mounting flanges are on both friction surfaces ultimately provides excellent heat balance.
  3. Exclusive full floating design with 10.9 grade alloyed hardware. Hardware is DACRO coated and crimp locking. DACRO is highly corrosion resistant and provides a film for easier movement between the hat and rotor ring as disc expands and contracts and the crimp design provides positive engagement without rattling or torque loss at temperature.
